  1. How do I get my blog listed on this website?

    First off, make sure your blog meets the following criteria:

    • blog must be by a Nigerian or have a strong focus on Nigeria
    • blog must have been updated in the last six months. All efforts will be made to make sure the listed blogs have been updated in the last six months.

    If you meet the above criteria, you can do one of the following things:

  2. Why is [insert name of blog] not listed on this site?
    This list of Nigerian blogs is not exhaustive and all efforts have been made to include as many blogs as possible. Simply submit your blog and as long as it meets the above criteria, it will be added.
  3. How do these awards work?
    The schedule is as follows:

    May 10
    List of Group A categories revealed. You will be directed to a form where you can nominate blogs for one or all of the categories. This phase will last for two weeks.

    May 24
    Group A nominees revealed.

    May 31
    Voting begins for Group A nominees.

    June 7
    Group A winners announced.

    June 14
    List of Group B categories revealed. Once again you will be directed to a form where you can nominate blogs for one or all of the categories and you will have two weeks for this phase.

    June 28
    Group B nominees revealed.

    July 5
    Voting begins for Group B nominees.

    July 12
    Group B winners announced.

  4. How were the nominated blogs chosen?
    Between May 10 and May 23, 2010 (see above schedule), readers were invited to submit nominations of blogs in the 30 different categories for the Group A nominations. The five blogs that received the highest numbers of nominations in each category were announced as nominees.
  5. Group A, Group B, what are you talking about?

    Group A awards: refer to the awards for the blogs and is considered the more “serious” group of awards. Nominees will be announced May 24, 2010 and winners will be announced on June 7, 2010.

    Group B awards: refer to the awards for bloggers and is more about the personality of the bloggers. Nominees will be announced on June 28, 2010 and winners in this group will be announced on July 12, 2010.

  6. Why do I get an error saying that my vote has been counted, even though I haven’t yet voted?
    In order to prevent ballot stuffing, votes are tracked by IP address and by cookies. In some rare cases, depending on how your computer network is set up, this means people in the same geographical location may not be able to vote. We apologize for the inconvenience.
