All Nigerian bloggers (and non-Nigerian bloggers who blog primarily about Nigeria) are welcome to list their blog on this site. However to be eligible for nomination in the 2014 Nigerian Blog Awards, a blog must:

  • be a blog, according to the Nigerian Blog Awards definition:
    • For the purposes of the Nigerian Blog Awards, a blog is a website that contains posts (articles, entries) displayed in reverse chronological order. The posts can be words, images, or both. Readers should be able to interact with the blog by leaving comments or using a rating system.

Job portals and websites for the distribution of music or movies are not blogs. If such sites have a blog component this part of the website is eligible for nomination.

  • be written by a Nigerian OR have a primary focus on Nigeria
  • have been in existence since July 2014 (i.e. at least six months from when nominations begin) AND have at least 15 entries. The only exception to this is blogs nominated in the Best New Blog category
  • have been updated in November 2014 or more recently (i.e. within two months of the start of the nomination period). The only exception to this is blogs nominated in the Best New Blog category.
  • be public (no locked or private blogs)

Nominations from the public will be accepted between January 12 and February 1, 2015, and the nominees of the 2014 Nigerian Blog Awards will be posted on March 4, 2015.
